Crime-time in the Emerald City.

So if you haven't heard, Sydney seems to be a bad place to buy high-spec European luxury cars if you don't want to be car-jacked or have them stolen from your home during the night. Check out the latest incident involving a gang stealing two brand-new cars, the day the owner brought them home from the dealer. The owner was relieved of his 2012 Porsche Panamera Turbo and 2012 Merc C350 during the night in the wealthy suburb of Vaucluse in Sydney's Eastern Suburbs.

I don't know what's scarier though: getting your car stolen from your own home in the middle of the night, or having to pay AUD$440,200 (US$451,600 or £288,000) for a 4-door Porsche thanks to Australia's incredibly high luxury car taxes. The C350 cost him AUD$94,000. Spending almost $100K on what the Europeans use as Taxis? Tell him he's dreaming.
