Mercedes-Benz S600 Maybach

The Maybach's back! Well, sort of. With the previous incarnation of Maybachs ending in 2008, MB have decided to spec-up their S-Class flagship, the S600, and create the S600 Maybach. It certainly looks like an improvement on the last whale! Read on here.

Look at this car!

Thanks to Phil Knox for sending this in. It gave me a good laugh.

Cars of Braquo TV Series

Braquo is a French TV series about cops, mobsters and the unofficial stars of the show, the incredible fleet of European Cars. These cars, almost exclusively in black, underpin the drama as they are stolen, torched, shot-at, rebirthed, shipped to or from Eastern Europe and generally driven to their full potential. If you enjoyed The Killing (Forbrydelsen), The Bridge (Bron Broen) or Spiral (Engrenages), you'll really enjoy this one. Read more about Braquo here.

Below: the principle cast. The Cops. The good guys (and sometimes bad guys).

Below: The name you'll hear over and over again: Eddy Caplan.

Here are some of the cars that make quite an impression across the three seasons. Note there were countless Peugeots, Renaults and Citroens which don't make the cut unfortunately, along with many other vehicles which don't play a larger role in the drama.

Elvis Presley's 1967 Cadillac Coupe de Ville

Elvis and Priscilla's stunning honeymoon Cadillac has just changed hands in Las Vegas. Read more here.

Volvo Trucks Casino Prank

This is great! Just imagine the stress of doing this job in real life. How about scratching a Ferrari on your way to the car park while trying to work out the clutch and gears. Yikes!

Daria Radionova's Swarovsky-encrusted Mercedes-Benz

We all know the children of Russian Oligarchs love to call London home, where they perhaps don't need quite so many bodyguards bullet-proof glass. However this is ostentatious even by the young, rich Ruskis' standard.

Like something out of a Bond movie, 21 year old student Daria Radionova began turning even more heads by parading around London in a Mercedes-Benz CLS350 covered in Swarovsky crystals. She flew 2 Russian men over and they worked 12 hours a day for 2 months to create the look!

Below: Daria Radionova

The car may not look overly special by day...

But the Benz certainly makes an impression as nightfalls...

Word on the street is she's had so much attention after the press got a hold of the pics that she's decided to sell the car. To another wallflower, one would imagine!

Gold-leaf Lamborghini Aventador

You will have read about Gulfies in my previous posts, the filthy rich young men from the Gulf states who bring their supercars to Western Europe or the UK for the Summer months. Check out this Lambo, not just gold coloured wrapped but actual golf-leaf wrapped.

Here's a clip of it driving around Paris, much to the delight of carspotters.

Johnny Cash's 1970 Rolls Royce Silver Shadow LWB.

I bought a man a car, just to watch him drive.

Maybe that was too much of a Johnny Cash stretch BUT check out The Man In Black's black-on-black Silver Shadow. It's up for auction with no reserve.

Rolls Royce Pick Up Trucks

Imagine having a Roller ute! It would be a real head-turner. I would imagine the upkeep might be slightly more costly than a regular old Hilux! These are all custom creations. No utility versions were ever factory built. I can't imagine one of these with spotties and pig hunting dog cages, thankfully!
