2014 BMW 2 Series Coupe
Yes, you read correctly! The Bavarians are launching another model into their already jammed line-up with this one wearing the 2-Series badge. The BMW PR machine says the "sporting tradition dates back to the original BMW 02". So, here's the new one and the original. 1925 Rolls Royce Elephant Hunting Vehicle
This car, commissioned by the Maharaja of Kotah, India, is based on a 1925 Rolls Royce Torpedo Sports Tourer. It was auctioned recently through Barrett-Jackson in the US and is equipped with an elephant rifle and a towed hand-cranked machine gun. Perfect for that Sunday drive. Through Syria. Anyway, it failed to meet its US$450,000 reserve so the good news is, it's still available!

Equus Bass770
OK so what's all this then? It's an homage to classic 70s American muscle cars and is called an Equus Bass770. It's a US$250,000 with a hand crafted supercharged 6.2L engine outputting 640bhp. I'm unsure if it's officially based on a classic Mustang but it certainly has the overall look of one.
Timken Bearings in Australia
In 1898, a St Louis, Missouri man named Henry Timken patented what became known as the 'tapered roller bearing'. This type of bearing first revolutionised the US rail industry before going on to dominate many other industries worldwide, mixing the weight-bearing strength (load) of cylindrical rollers with the ability to handle large amounts of sideways force (thrust). For example, your front wheel bearings in your car are tapered roller bearings so that your wheels can handle the weight of your car while still being able to corner at speeds. I saw this clip from Timken and wanted to share it, as A.A.Blatch represents Timken in Western NSW through our partnership with the Consolidated Bearing Company.

1956 Chevrolet Corvette Roadster

LaFerrari
So wrap your brain around this: Ferrari has released a 718kW supercar named LaFerrari which will set buyers back about AUD$3million. Buyers will be flown to Maranello to have the seats custom fitted. Each buyer will also be given a 1:8 scale model of the car they're buying, free of charge. What's more, there is no shortage of buyers.
So what's the catch? Ferrari says this car is designed to be so exclusive, it will only be sold to loyal Ferrari owners who already have at least five other prancing horses in the garage. Plus, they must sign a contract stating that of they sell, they can only sell it back to the factory. Some have reportedly been so desperate to get one they are willing to just buy another normal Ferrari to increase their chances but have been told the 499 vehicles have already been sold out. Man tries to sell Hyundai as a Lamborghini Aventador
I have to say this catch-me-if-you-can style story gave me a smile. You've got to hand it to this man from Southwestern China who refitted a bodykit to his old Hyundai and then tried to sell it as a supercar. The police not only fined him when they discovered what he was doing but they also confiscated his...errr...Lambo. Click here for the full story.

Queen Elizabeth II's Daimler Sells for £40,000
Not only was this the Queen's very own car that she actually drove herself, it was packed with gizmos. Here's a taste of the full article:
"It was sold by auction house Historics at Brooklands in Surrey with its original tyres and the adapted ashtray that houses the security light controls, which remain fully functioning. These include a set of blue flashing strobes occupying the front fog lamp inserts, alternate flashing headlamps and alternate flashing rear lights.
A pair of neon blue lights by the rear view mirror, which were used to identify the vehicle in which the Queen was travelling when approaching her destination, were also still in place."
I would also like to add that it has a 375bhp supercharged V8 engine. Nice one, Liz.
