Inkas Mercedes-Benz G63 Stretch-Limousine

If you're the type of dictator or drug baron who has people wanting to gun him down, why on Earth would you want to be driven around in the automotive equivalent of a rotating beacon? I don't think any person on Earth would doubt there's a seriously shady figure contained within. Or someone seriously desperate for attention! Read all about here.

This one by Inkas actually makes this Brabus version look understated!

Kostya Tszyu's Bentley Arnage for Sale

Shannon's is offering up boxing champion Kostya Tszyu's 2001 Bentley Arnage Red Label at their upcoming Sydney auction. Click here to check it out. It's interesting to note this same vehicle of this age and mileage would go for around $45,000 in the UK. Us Aussies certainly pay a premium for luxury motoring!

SUPERBOWL 2015: Mercedes-Benz Fable

SUPERBOWL 2015: Lexus NX 'Make some noise'.

This is one of the worst, most irrelevant car ads I've seen with a ridiculous theme and marketing taglines that the work experience kid could come up with. A snappy editor can't make up for the lazy creative! Even Kia is making great ads- come on Lexus!

Subaru Outback Commercial 2015

Have you seen Subaru's new Outback commercial? This takes me back to my school days of listening to the Austen Tayshus poem Australiana, which was written by comedy legend Billy Birmingham (of the 12th Man fame).

Now, Subaru has teamed up with Austen Tayshus (AKA Alexander Gutman) to sell their new outback. Being an Australiana fan, I didn't like it at first but by the end I really loved it.

Australian Prime Minister's Bullet-proof BMW 760Li

Check out the Aussie Prime Minister's new 7 series, part of the new high-spec security fleet. At AUD$500,000 a pop, the new beemers will hunker down against AK-47s. It has a self-sealing petrol tank, special run-flat tyres, an attack alarm and an intercom system where the PM can communicate with people outside of the vehicle. Sounds like a year 12 muck-up day prank waiting to happen.

This is a bitter-sweet situation though because while the PM will now get chauffeured around in one of Europe's finest, it does spell the end of of the magnificent Holden WM Caprice V8 fleet. With the demise of the Ford Fairlane/LTD, Holden was staying strong with Australia's only home-grown limousine but who knows for how much longer.

As an aside, $500,000 seems like a lot, but a 760Li is just shy of $400K on the road in Australia anyway, so the armouring isn't an overly costly addition.

Rambo Lambo

Long before the supercar brands stepped into 4WD territory, Lamborghini came out with the V12 powered LM002 SUV, affectionately known as the Rambo Lambo.

This one just sold for US$107,500 through RM Auctions in Arizona. Click here to read on.

Mercedes-Benz S600 Maybach

The Maybach's back! Well, sort of. With the previous incarnation of Maybachs ending in 2008, MB have decided to spec-up their S-Class flagship, the S600, and create the S600 Maybach. It certainly looks like an improvement on the last whale! Read on here.

Look at this car!

Thanks to Phil Knox for sending this in. It gave me a good laugh.

Cars of Braquo TV Series

Braquo is a French TV series about cops, mobsters and the unofficial stars of the show, the incredible fleet of European Cars. These cars, almost exclusively in black, underpin the drama as they are stolen, torched, shot-at, rebirthed, shipped to or from Eastern Europe and generally driven to their full potential. If you enjoyed The Killing (Forbrydelsen), The Bridge (Bron Broen) or Spiral (Engrenages), you'll really enjoy this one. Read more about Braquo here.

Below: the principle cast. The Cops. The good guys (and sometimes bad guys).

Below: The name you'll hear over and over again: Eddy Caplan.

Here are some of the cars that make quite an impression across the three seasons. Note there were countless Peugeots, Renaults and Citroens which don't make the cut unfortunately, along with many other vehicles which don't play a larger role in the drama.
