New A-Class

Mercedes can make all the ads they want but it doesn't change the fact the A-Class is the poor cousin of the Merc family and jazzing it up doesn't take away from the fact it's an overpriced irregular MPV. It's not a hatchback, although I think it wishes it was a 1-series, and it's not in competition with the even uglier B-Class.

Carrera 911s

I saw my first new Carrera 911s in the flesh (monocoque shell) today on lunch in Fitzrovia in London's West End. I can't help feeling the rear tail-lights have been lifted from an Aston Martin. Is it just me? Anyway, you can have one in the UK from £82,242.

This weekend rare classics will be auctioned by Bonhams at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. I wish I was there! The Aston is my pick of this bunch.
